Run of Remembrance 10k. There were so many hills for only a 6 mile course, which is why my splits are so bad. But it's a start. It' ll be fun to see how much faster I can get by the end of summer. I need to keep training hills, even though I hate them and have never been able to over come them mentally or physically.
Another thing this race reaffirmed is that I have got to eat better, lose at least 10 pounds and drink more water.
57.42 such a nice run. I only had one steep uphill at mile 5 and I managed to run the whole thing, though it almost killed me. There other uphills were not bad and easy to run. I was alone and just kept checking the Garmin to make sure I stayed under 10 min. miles. I'm hoping that by the end of summer I have it down to 9 min. miles. I want to run a 10k on Labor day to see how much I've progressed, though the race on Memorial Day had way too much uphill for it to truly count. I've also lost 2 pounds so far this week. 8 more to go.
oh boy. I'm a little sore from the crossfit and my legs were a little tired from my 2 six mile runs earlier this week. I was tired. I ran .75 and then thought there was no way I can run 3 miles uphill and then the 3 back down. So I walked 2.25 and then ran back down trying to hold 9 min. I could only do it for 1 mile (8.41) and then I walked the rest of the way home. I still count the miles, even though I wasn't running all of them. When I first started running after I had Samantha, I would push her in a jogging stroller up a hill about 1 mile and then run down. I kept adding a little more running as I built up and it was a good way to start out. I still can't run hills but it's a good place to start. My goal is to be able to run 8 min. miles for 13.1. I'm giving myself 2 years to accomplish that goal. will be 41 then. I'm just not sure that I'll attempt another marathon, but the half is doable. that would be a 1.44 i think. I'm only running 3 days a week right now and I'm hoping to add in some Saturday runs now that it has started warming up.
