3 miles in 26.38.  Much better than last week.  I swam too, but the pool was a little crowded so I swam in the play area and didn't keep track of what I was doing.  Just moving the arms a little.  I think it is great that so many people are exercising,  but I'm also annoyed because they are in my way and most of them won't keep it up.  January is the worst month with all the resolution people.  They peter out by Feb. Still,  the old guy floating in the pool talking to someone else floating in the pool.  Do you really need a lap lane to do that?

25 min. spin  2 mile run.  16.58 I was so tired I didn't think I wanted to run, but I figured it would be good for me so I started out and did my first mile in 9.0 without even trying, then i picked it up and did a 7.58 for the second mile,  but I didn't feel like I was pushing that hard.  I felt so good when I was done. That is my first sub 8 this fall/winter.  It's been a slow one and it was nice to see some improvement.

I feel pretty good right now. I think I want to start with the ice breaker in March and then go from there. I need one under my belt so I can get a good feel for it. As far as halves go, I want to do AF, Timp, Provo River and one in Vernal in Sept. that runs right by my Mother in Law's. I know Provo river is a horribly organized race and the shirts are terrible, but I like running down Provo Canyon.

Those are AWESOME halfs!!! Some fellow bloggers have organized their own Provo River Half the last 3 years. They call it the Red Hot Pink Chicks Half. We run up the Provo Canyon from the park just south of the Riverwoods and turn around about a mile past Bridal Veils. No entry fee, just bring food to share at the end and a prize to exchange. It is usually the first part of July. Anyway, we run it because we love the Provo Canyon and refuse to pay Curt for his dangerous and disorganized race.

I am glad you are feeling good and enjoying your runs. We've been lucky with such good winter running weather. Keep up the good work and keep running fun...no stress and no worries! :)

I've seen your pace and distance and it far excels mine so I don't really think you can say you run slow and easy:) However I can give you a swim lesson if you want. I taught some 6 year olds in Idaho Falls and they were swimming laps after a month, though since you're not 6 I can promise no such outcome! and I swam for ASU because I thought I was too good to swim for BYU. Wow, did I have an ego!

Water was way too cold this morning so, unlike my three children whose coaches made them get in and swim,  I skipped it.   I spent way too many years jumping into cold water.  It's nice to know that I don't have to any more.

it felt so good to get out and run on the road.  I had some uphill and my splits show it.  After I crested each hill,  I would have to stop and walk for a minute.

And, I'm back.  Sort of.  Wisdom teeth are no fun.  I am still dying,  but I had to get started again eventually.  I did one mile on the track,  and it felt pretty good until the last 2 laps and then my chest (sternum) started hurting so I did a mile on the elliptical and then did another mile on the track and it felt better and then one more mile on the elliptical. 2 miles running, 2 miles elliptical.  I'm happy with that.

I'm not really sure how far I went.  I ran for 16.51 and then walked a minute after cresting the first hill.  Ran 3.10 and then walked another minute after cresting the next section of the hill.  The third hill is the toughest and steepest.  Ran 1.00 then walked 1. ran .42, walked 1.00, ran 9.29 downhill, walked 1.00, ran 4.34, walked 3.00, ran 4.21, walked three minutes home.  So a lot of walking but I think it was 4 miles total.

 swam 900 yards.  2 miles elliptical, 4 x 2 min. stair climber, 15 min. bike

3 miles 9.54, 9.41, 9.33  We turned a corner as a lady was crossing the street.  We only had 1/4 mile left to run.  I could hear her behind us and finally she said "I hope you don't mind me pacing off you guys. how far are you running?"  "Only 3 miles.  How about you?"  She seemed really disappointed.  "18 miles.  I'm only 4 miles in"  I almost died.  She was at least 10 years older than we are and had no food or water and was wearing pants that rubbed together and a t-shirt,  and yet she can run 18 as fast as I run 3.  Just a little embarrassing.

After the first mile I stopped to stretch because I felt like I couldn't breath.  I started running again but I just felt tired.  I decided to run/walk as much as I could but I just couldn't get into it,  I figured since I had gone 7 yesterday and was going to lift weights and cut the grass,  I'd just walk home and call it a day.  Then I though how pathetic it was that I didn't even run 3 miles.  3 miles is so easy, anyone can do it.  So I went back to my one mile mark and ran 2 more miles, plus .15 uphill for good measure, then I walked .85 home.  So, all said and done I got in 5 miles,  plus a mile from cutting the grass (Does that count?).  I wore the Garmin while cutting the grass because I've always been curious how far it is.  .93 to be exact.  So while I did not get in the 6 mile run that I was planning,  I was so proud for making myself get out there and run.  Also,  I decided that I should focus on just running no matter how slow it was and that people always say that you should be able to talk while you run.  Well,  I was running alone and had forgotten my ipod,  so I decided to talk to myself. Mostly I just said how crazy people must think I am! Progress, since I never talk when I run.  9.53, 14.10 (walking mostly), 9.51, 10.02, 16.10. (1:00.19 total)

I'm trying to stay positive,  but it is so hard to run.  I hope that if I just keep doing what I'm doing I can build up and it will get easier.  I also did 20 min. spin (got there late) and I'm need to do weights still,  but my legs are tired and I need to get some things done,  so, we'll see.

I just had the best run. Marshall drove Samantha and I up to Kohler's before going to the priesthood session and we ran DOWN to our house.  It was awesome. The weather was cool and because it was downhill it was faster than normal and I could even talk some.
